Gunnar Inge Eide

He was born in Eidsdal, the neighbouring village to Geiranger, and had his first organ lessons there. After finishing his studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music he started working as organist, choir leader and music teacher. In 2005 he moved back to his native Eidsdal together with his wife Carolin. Gunnar Inge is used as accompanist in many different styles, including folk music.

 

Carolin Eide

Carolin grew up in Lindenberg in southern Germany, and had her first lessons in piano and organ playing there. She studied church music and organ playing at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig. After her final exams she came to Norway to work as organist. The last nine years she has been cantor in Stranda, Norddal and Geiranger churches and a much used accompanist.

 

Ingunn Linge Valdal
Ingunn was born in 1973 and grew up in Valldal in a family of musicians. She started early in the local folk music group, and was early known as a very talented fiddle player taking prices is several major competitions. She is now an active musician and music teacher and plays an important role in bringing traditional music on to

new generations of fiddle players.

Ole Jørn Myklebust

He was born in Eidsdal in 1977. He started off in the musical landscape of jazz standards, apparent on his debut album Breaks Even from his studying days at The Norwegian Academy of Music. In the years following, Myklebust’s collaborations with various artists world-wide, not least his close cooperation with the world music star Mari Boine both as a musician, composer and producer, has led to the development of a musical style unique for Myklebust. In addition to his work as a soloist and session musician, he works as a music producer and composer for stage, film and tv, as well as for artists such as Unni Wilhelmsen (NO), Melanie Scholtz (ZA) and Jonas Fjeld (NO).
